I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing
John 15:5, NIV
I’m currently sitting outside Indianapolis, thinking about this business I have been doing the past 3 years, and all the connections I have made. I was always an introvert, I didn’t need to have a lot of friends, and I had no desire to meet new people.
But God had a different plan. I now am realizing that every connection in my life, whether for 1 day or for a lifetime, had a purpose. I now feel like we are meant to connect. This business has brought me so many connections I never would have made that have changed me from the inside.
Tonight we sat around in a circle, almost 30 of us, sharing why we are here. There were many tears, lots of laughter, and just a knowing purpose for being brought together.
God gave us 2 very important orders: love God and love others. And this does not mean just our best friends and our family. We aren’t meant to just to love the ones that are easy to love. I feel like God is the tree trunk and we are meant to be the branches that spread out and reach out to each other, building those connections, sharing love. I feel like that is why God put me in this business and what I have slowly learned to do. And the blessings from these connections are indescribable.
This month we had also talked about connections in church. We had talked about hospitality, which by definition includes strangers and “the least”. We aren’t told just to believe in God and love our family and close friends. We are told to love strangers. We are told to love our neighbors. We are even told to love “the least”.
The past 3 years I have experienced so many new connections that I know were meant to be. I am blessed with a team that not only is learning to love themselves, but so passionate about loving each other and others. I am able to love and support what used to be complete strangers online. This isn’t a talent I ever saw myself having. Communication was my least strong suit. But sometimes we don’t realize our purpose. We just have to open our hearts to what God has planned.
I feel like we are on this a Earth to connect the branches and vines, to share love and joy, and to give each other just a tiny glimpse of what it might be like in Heaven. God wants us to make connections. I am forever grateful He opened up my eyes to this.
Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.
